Depicting First World War battlefield landscapes as they are today and documenting the events that took place a century ago, ‘Fields of Battle’ embodies the shift from the period of 'remembrance' to that of 'history', enabling all visitors – from Europe, the Americas and Commonwealth nations or former colonies – to explore the greatest legacy of military history in the world.

Designed to travel to Europe's great cities, the exhibition will enable their inhabitants to understand and revisit a conflict often overshadowed by the memory of the war years from 1939 to 1945.
Since 2005, writer Laurent Loiseau and photographer Michael St Maur Sheil have been working closely with wecommunic8 to create a totally unique photographic record of the sites and remains of the Great War in Europe and worldwide – the resulting street gallery exhibition 'Fields of Battle' will be experienced by tens of millions of people on its tour between 2014 and 2018.
The Tour Starting in Brussels in 2014 and ending in Paris in 2018, via the city centres of the great European conurbations, this free public exhibition will display contemporary colour photographs of the landscapes and surviving traces of battlefields, in all seasons, from the North Sea to the Dardanelles.
Sponsorship This site will document a range of sponsorship opportunities between 2012 and the exhibition’s launch in 2014, representing a unique opportunity for brand exposure in multiple European cities.
